Sea S.A.L.T. SpeechPathology FAQ

Welcome to the SeaSaltSpeechPathology FAQ page! We've got some answers to those initial questions parents, caregivers, and educators usually have about our awesome speech and language therapy services for kids in Maroubra and nearby spots.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

If your child has trouble pronouncing words, a smaller vocabulary than expected, or finds it hard to understand or express themselves, it might be time to look into speech therapy. Children who are neurodivergent, have hearing differences, genetic conditions, or developmental disabilities may benefit from speech therapy.

How are therapy plans personalized for each child?

Every child is different, so we create a plan just for them. It could include one-on-one sessions, group therapy, or a mix of both—whatever suits their needs best.

What is the best way to start engaging with your services?

It’s super simple—just click here to contact us for an initial consultation and assessment for your child.

Where can you deliver your services?

We’ve got options! You can visit us at our Maroubra clinic, we can come to local schools or pre-schools, or we can even set up tele-therapy sessions for your convenience.

How long does a typical therapy session last?

Sessions usually last anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your child’s age, focus, and what they’re working on.

What can I expect during a speech assessment?

Our speech therapists will take a good look at what’s going great and what needs a little extra help. It’s a full evaluation to get the full picture.

Do you provide parent education and support?

Absolutely! We’ve got tons of resources and tips to help parents and caregivers work on speech and language skills right at home.

What is the on-boarding process like?

Fill in the contact us form, once we’ve booked and completed the assessment, we’ll team up with you to create a custom therapy plan and set up sessions that work for your schedule and your child’s needs.

How often are therapy sessions typically scheduled?

It really depends on your child, this is something which you can discuss further with your therapist.

Do you accept insurance, medicare or NDIS?

We accept care plans from your GP which entitles you to a rebate from medicare for a limited number of sessions. You can talk to your GP about a care plan before or after your initial assessment.

We accept NDIS self and plan managed funds. Unfortunately we are unable to accept NDIA managed at this time.

We can provide receipts to claim through insurance if speech pathology is part of your fund.
